My Riverdale School Reflection

My six years at Riverdale school have been extraordinary. Just some of my highlights have been: the two fantastic senior camps, being in the dance explorers team, netball, miniball, electives, quiddage, school productions, student council and communication team. Riverdale School has definitely given me lots of great opportunities. All of the teachers I have had have been awesome. I will miss Riverdale School but I am looking forward to going to Intermediate Normal.

Burger Fresh Recount

I peel the gladwrap of the huge container very slowly. I stare at the container amazed at how much ham is in it. The musty smell of ham drifts up my nose. The first customer at Burger Fresh grips his plate firmly. "Ham?" I ask him cherfully. "Yes" he replies. I get a piece of folded up ham inside the silver tongs. Then I place it on the burger bun. "One down, two hundred and twenty three to go" I think to myself.

Burgef Fresh Reflection

How do you think Burger Fresh went?
I think Burger Fresh went really well and the only thing we could have done better at is not being so generous with the amount of fillings we gave out so we can save the fillings for other people. This is becuase we ran out of some fillings for the people at the end.

What was my job doing at Burger Fresh?
I was on Ham. It was a very busy job because lots of people wanted Ham. I enjoyed my job because it wasnt boring - I was always doing something.

What have I learnt?
- How to write jingles
- What a proccedure line is
- How to make spinning tops
- Hygein with food

What were the challenges when organising Burger Fresh?
- Counting and dealing with money
- Making envolopes and spinning tops out of paper. They had to be absolutley perfect.

Cold Snow Poem

I looked outside.
My heart filled with delight.
I was so excited
Because it had been snowing all night!

I walked forward ten steps
And I looked at my fingertips.
My friend came up to me
And suddenly she slips!

The weather forecast
Is only one degrees.
I'm shaking all over.
Oh No. Here comes another cold breeze!

The island Tsunami

Swoosh. The waves peacefully crash into one another. I open my eyes and smell the salty smell of the sea. I jump out of bed and pull on my togs and I chuck my purple skirt over the top. I stand infront of my shell framed mirror and brush my long blond hair. Suddenly my door swings open and the messenger boy zooms in, his top back to front and his dark hair sticking out in all directions. I just looked at the weather forecast and theirs going to be a tsunami right by this island today at 12.00. You’re the island priincess. You must know what to do. I stare at the boy with an alert look on my face. Meet me outside in 2 minutes I tell him.

2 minutes later I slip on my colourful jandals and walk over to the crowd of island people. I can hear the sand crunching under my feet. Everyone is talking with worried, shaking voices. What are we going to do asks someone in the crowd. Every pair of eyes stare at me. I have been thinking and I thought we could build a brick wall right around the island so the tsunami dosent destroy the island and pull us into sea. There was silence and then suddenly everyone started talking all at once.

By 9.00 everyone was staking bricks and pouring cement. Wow! I said. I think this plan might actually work. The last brick was stuck on at 11.45. Everyone headed back to their houses on the island and looked out the window even though they couldn’t see the sunami because of the wall blocking it out. Suddenly there was a big crash. That must’ve been the sunami I thought. Yay. The island and the island people were saved.

How to fly a kite

W.A.L.T:Use long and short scentences and use conjunctions.

A Kite can be any shape. It can be any colour. A kite has a long peice of string attached to the shape meanwhile on the other end of the string there is a handle for you to hold. This is so you can control the kite.

To get the kite going the weather needs to be quite windy so your kite can fly. Hold the handle while you drag the kite on the ground behind you and run. Now there is 2 meters of string free. When the wind picks up, your kite will lift into the air. You can run around with your kite.

You should try to fly a kite. Its so simple.

A Momet In Time

As I dashed up to the starting line I felt nervous. "On your marks get set..." Paige and I fired off. "False alarm" Mr Bron yelled to us. "Go" We ran off giggling but we both were determined. I weaved through the poles glaring at my appoinent. I jumped up on the beam. I was leading but not by far. Suddenly Paige took the lead. We were nearly at the finish line. She zoomed ahead and won. I could have bet her if I had shoes on!

Camp Reflection

The best activity at camp
is a hard to choose because we did heaps of cool activity's at camp but it would probably have to be seeing the Seals because it was such an amazing experience. It was my first time seeing Seals from the wild. The risks about seeing them were standing on rocks leaning over and looking at them because we could have fallen off. I learnt that Seals are amazing creatures and I learnt about where they live.

Best game we played
was the potato game. The risk in this game is getting tagged. It feels really good when you steal a potato and win. I learnt that it isn't about skill, its about strategy. My strategy was to throw the potato and run really fast.

The hardest challenge
was going up the sand dunes because it was so steep and slippery. It felt so pleased with myself when i got to the top. I learnt to not give up.

The biggest Risk
was climbing up Castle Rock because it was so high and i could have easily slipped and fell down. It was also very windy.

The funniest moment
was when Mr MCallum got throw into the sea. The risks were him getting back at us!
